Stephen Florence is an Associate with Blackley & Wingad focusing on family law cases including divorce and domestic violence. His work involves researching and drafting motions and reviewing and preparing discovery packets in ongoing cases.

Although Mr. Florence planned to go to medical school, he switched his interests to patent law and then eventually determined that the practice of criminal and family law suited him best, believing that his involvement will make a positive difference in the lives of others.

His role as a student representative for the Pride Law Caucus allowed Mr. Florence to ensure that LGBTQ members of the student body felt safe and had access to legal and other resources they might need.

Mr. Florence received his J.D. from the University of Utah S.J. Quinney College of Law. Born and raised in Calgary, Canada, he moved to Utah to earn his B.S. in biology from Utah Valley University where he was also president of the jujitsu club. In his free time, Mr. Florence enjoys entertaining his “nerd side” by playing video games and Dungeons & Dragons.
